Mobile apps for iPhone and Android, built to last
We design and build apps for iPhone and Android, with sign-in, payments, notifications and offline working. We get them through App Store and Google Play review, then keep them up to date as phones and your business change.
Native, cross-platform or web app?
There's more than one way to build an app. Native apps, written separately for iPhone (Swift) and Android (Kotlin), get the most out of each phone. Cross-platform apps share one codebase between both, which usually means one app to build and maintain instead of two.
Sometimes the best answer is a web app that works well on a phone, with no app store at all. We recommend the simplest option that does the job, and explain the trade-offs before you commit to anything.
What an app needs before real users arrive
Sign-in and accounts
Email, Apple and Google sign-in, accounts handled securely, and a way for people to delete their account, which both app stores now require.
Payments and subscriptions
In-app purchases and subscriptions through Apple and Google, or card payments where the store rules allow, with renewals and failed payments taken care of.
Push notifications
Reminders and updates that open the right screen in the app, sent only when something needs the person's attention.
Works offline
Apps that keep working when the signal drops and catch up when it's back, for field teams, warehouses and anyone on the move.
Linked to your back office
The app and your back-office systems share one secure API, so orders, jobs and customer details stay in step between the phone and the office.
Through app store review
We prepare the store listing, privacy details and test accounts, submit to the App Store and Google Play, and deal with any questions the reviewers send back.
When an app makes sense
An app earns its place on someone's phone when they'll use it often.
- Customers order, book or check in with you regularly
- Staff work on site and need jobs, forms and photos on their phone
- You want a loyalty scheme, membership or subscription in people's pockets
- You have a web prototype, perhaps built with AI tools, that needs to be in the app stores
- An existing app is out of date, keeps crashing or has been removed from a store

Monitoring, improvements and support once it's live, so it keeps getting better.
Common questions
Should we build for iPhone or Android first?
Usually both at once, from one shared codebase, so nobody is left out. If your customers mostly use one kind of phone, starting there can make sense. We look at who your users are before recommending either.
How long does it take to get into the app stores?
Building the first version takes most of the time. Store review is usually quick once everything is in order, but apps do get turned down, most often over privacy details, sign-in or payments. We check those before we submit.
Can you take over an app someone else built?
Yes. We start by reviewing the code, the store accounts and the back end, then fix anything urgent and take on updates and new features.
Do we need a website or web app as well?
Not always, but most apps need a back end: the system that stores accounts and data, and that your team uses to manage it. We build both, and the same back end can run a web version too.
See web app development.
Who owns the app and the store accounts?
You do. We recommend publishing under your own Apple and Google developer accounts so the app always stays yours, and the code and its rights transfer to you when the project is complete.
Ready to talk it through?
Tell us what you'd like to improve. The first conversation is free, and you'll get an honest view of whether this is the right fit.
Every app is quoted after a free first conversation, then built in sprints so you decide what comes next.
